Altered Torso 1: Fashionista

Altered Torso 1: Fashionista
Recently, I came up with the concept of creating a Book Of Me using the Altered Torso as the medium of expression. Today I'm sharing my first torso in the series: Fashionista.

Fashionista was inspired by Gingersnap Creation's November Focus On Fabric theme. I layered strips of beautiful sheer fabric over white cardstock to allow the true colors to show through, leaving one shoulder bare for a hint of sassiness. I created the belt from a strip of thin satin ribbon, and added a Making Memories ribbon slide to create the buckle. The original ribbon slide was a little plain for my tastes, so I added Icicle Sticles for a touch of sparkle. I then added the pearls - which I removed from a pre-made Rusty Pickle tag - and also added a touch of the Icicle Stickles to them. I used the opened-up end of a paper clip to apply the stickles to ensure that the liquid did not drip everywhere, and adhered the pearls using Diamond Glaze.

I'm entering Fashionista in the following challenges:

Gingersnap Creations: Haute Couture
Raise The Bar #43: Let’s See Those Curves
Totally Papercrafts #41: Tag It

I'm also sharing Fashionista at these sites:

  3. How darling is that?! I love sewing more than anything so I may have to think about doing something similar some time in my art journal. That little belt on it is the absolute best!
