Songs Of Worship - Lead Me To The Cross

Graphics by Edie at Rich Gifts
When I hear a song I like, I find it hard to get it out of my head. I play it over and over again until I learn the words and memorize the melody. I listen for the meaning, I pay attention to how the song makes me feel. I look for songs that make me think - songs that tell stories - songs that, for one reason or another, move me, change me, impact my life.

Lead Me To The Cross by Brooke Fraser is one of those songs I've been listening to for months now, and have not been able to get out of my head. It is particularly relevant this week, as Christians around the world reflect upon the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I hope you're blessed by the song!

Lead Me To The Cross
Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemption's hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Chorus:
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you're risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Chorus

Bridge:
To your heart
To your heart

Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart
