WOYWW 47: Our Thanksgiving Menu

Just A Sampling Of What's On This Year's Menu
Happy What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday dear friends! Here in the States, we are busy preparing for Thanksgiving Day so there is not a lot of craftiness going on this week – but oh my word, it’s beginning to feel like foodie heaven here! Since a big part of Thanksgiving centers around the family feast, this week’s creative focus has been on finalizing our menu. Each year, we like to blend tried and true traditions with a few new dishes to keep the menu exciting, so this past week, we’ve been fine-tuning the details!

So, what would you be feasting upon if you stopped by on Thursday?

Our Thanksgiving 2010 Menu

Roasted Turkey
Sausage Stuffing
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Green Beans & Almonds - Asian Style
Roasted Fall Vegetables
Wild Rice Pilaf
Two-Potato Gratin with Cheese
Sweet Dinner Rolls
Pumpkin Bread Pudding
Pecan Pie

Sound delicious? I'll be sharing more recipes in the upcoming weeks, so if anything in particular catches your eye, be sure to let me know!

Speaking of eye-catching ... nothing in our kitchen gets past the ever watchful eye of Tsunami, the Royal Taste Tester! He has absolutely no trouble peering over the kitchen counter top (or reaching up to get what he wants if he feels his needs are ignored!) Can you guess who gets served the first plate of turkey every year at Thanksgiving?

Peers Over The Counter To See What's Cooking
How will you be spending Thanksgiving Day? Leave me a comment, then hop over to Julia's and get your WOYWW-on, and have a fabulous week!

  1. Visiting through Wordless Wednesday. I will be working on Thursday b/c tho I am American, I am living in Canada. I will be making a Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday though. We will be having turkey, cornbread dressing, broccoli salad, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Holy carb loading, batman!

  2. Thanksgiving is THE best dinner of the year. Hands down!

I don't remember ever leaving the table feeling wayyyyy over full. Mashed potatoes and gravy is to die for. Fattening, unhealthy, and oh sooooooooo good.

  19. This year is an eeat out Thanksgiving - several times with various family member groups. Can't get everyone together on same day in one place any more.

  20. Yum. I think I fancy a Thanksgiving dinner! And what a lovely selection of veggies. If you are posting recipes, I would love to know how to make the pilaf.

Pleased to see that your cat - and what a tall lad he is - is first to the turkey. Our Burmese used to sit beside the oven and start yowling when they thought dinner was done. Have a lovely celebration. Bernie #11
