WOYWW 35: Inspiration Has No Seasons

Anna Griffin Die Cuts
The other night, while watching TV, I got an idea for making cards featuring floral die cuts. So, I went digging thru my stash until I found what I was looking for - several sheets of beautiful Anna Griffin die cuts that I'd been saving for a future play day! I started gathering supplies and put them in a project pouch until I have time to sit down and finish the project. And then I wondered - is it strange that I am pulling out my spring and summer florals while the rest of the crafting world is diving headlong into fall?

Now don't get me wrong - I love flowers and will make my cards anyway. I am just curious. How many of you create by the seasons, and how many of you create whatever strikes your fancy, all year long?

Let Sleeping Cats Lie
This week I'm catching up on life tasks and trying to clear the ever-growing piles of stuff off of my desk, but there are some things a desk should never be cleared of - with lounging Legends at the top of that list! Today, my faithful Coon Cat is so tired, he didn't even look up when the paparazzi came in to snap a shot! For the past several days, he has been following me every where I go - every time I wake up, he is right there looking over me! We were apart a few times this week - a rarity for him. Obviously, he did not think much of the separation!

Now, if you would like to see What's On Everyone Else's Workspace This Wednesday, then visit Julia, the keeper of the magical links, and you'll be transported to some of the most amazing workspaces you've ever seen! Some are neat, some are messy, some are works in progress - but all reflect the heart and soul of the artists of WOYWW!

  1. What a beautiful cat - mine likes my company, too, altho she's averse to a cuddle. I tend to make whatever I fancy, altho at the moment I'm trying to use up lots of 'summery' papers and get my summer photos scrapped before I accidentally delete them or something!

  3. Love your diecuts :)
I really create what ever I feel like...but it just so happens that I love the colors of Fall and Halloween and Thanksgiving. After such a hot and humid Summer I'm looking forward to falling leaves, smiling pumpkins and cooler temps!!
    Have a beautiful day!

  7. I got confused where to post. I guess that you linked to the top post. What can I say? I see Legend is napping away in the sun. And I want to run my hands over those die cuts. They are super. I looked for your earlier, but see you waited to post. Yep, I stalked YOU this week. Happy WOYWW.

  8. Love lounging Legend. Since my boys went to the cattery a few weeks ago they haven't left me alone much - I guess they missed their Mommy!!!!

  9. I often create with the seasons since I'm teaching card making classes and they usually go with the seasons. However, if I feel like doing a winter card in summer, then I do it. Go with your inspiration, not with the calender!

  13. Lovely, lounging kitty. How come we always see pictures of Legend, where's Tsunami hiding? Cards, hhm, I go with whatever I want to do most of the time unless there's an event coming up, like Christmas for instance.

I tend to go with the flow with my crafting, seasonality belongs in the garden

  15. I craft whatever takes my fancy, but I do find in autumn being surrounded by the changing colours of leaves on trees etc kind leads me into that sort of colour palette. Thanks for the snoop round, hope you had a good WOYWW day.

  19. Oh, I didn't realise Legend was a Maine Coon - it's hard to tell his size cos there's nothing to compare with, not properly! We need a pic of someone holding him.....

  20. FLowers are such a perennial favourite with everyone - you've probably picked summer blooms as an attempt to extend the season..I know I would! I'm late enough to have read you other posts this week too - my that cake looks fab.
