WOYWW 22: My Altered Challenge Project

I don’t remember when or how I first discovered Julia’s Stampin Ground blog, but from the moment I first read about her What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday Challenge, I became hooked. Since January, I have been participating in this challenge, and today, I’m delighted to wish Julia and my friends a Happy 1st Anniversary, and unveil the very special project I created in honor of the occasion – a beautiful altered mailbox!

The original mailbox first made an appearance on my second WOYWW post back in January – I purchased it at a Michael’s Dollar Day Sale for a buck or two!

Now, it looks like a treasure you might uncover it a vintage boutique!

When I first purchased this mailbox, I knew I wanted to alter this with “a touch of spring” in mind, so I chose the pretty soft colors scheme and the floral and butterfly embellishments with that in mind.

I incorporated lots of lace along with my favorite image from the Altered Pages Little Lassie Collage Sheet I recently featured to add a nostalgic touch. I love collage so I incorporated that into the mailbox as well.

I am sharing my project with my friends at the following challenge sites:

These days, my mailbox is bursting with love, friendship and wonderful memories – the very things I think of when I think of my experience with WOYWW!

Thanks Julia, for bringing us all together – here’s looking forward to another fabulous year!

  9. Wow ... your mailbox is just beautiful! I'm curious ... do you actually put it outside and use it for mail? While I think it would be great to have such a lovely piece of art as a functional mailbox, I'd probably be tempted to use it inside and place all kinds of treasures in it. It's really lovely!

Thanks for sharing it with the Inspiration Avenue gang!
